On the afternoon of 31 July 2026, the XJTLU Intellectual Property Information Service Centre (XJTLU-IPISC), upon the invitation of GN (Beijing) New Materials Technology Co., Ltd., delivered an online training session entitled Intellectual Property Empowerment in Materials R&D for the company’s R&D personnel.

Founded in 2015, GN (Beijing) New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. is the first independent technology incubation and innovation platform established by a research institute under China Energy Investment Corporation. Guided by its mission of “Leading Low-Carbon Life through Advanced New Materials”, the company strives to become a world-class supplier of advanced coal-based materials. It focuses on technology transfer and high-end application development in the field of advanced materials, and provides integrated solutions for sectors including lightweight aerospace transportation equipment, plastic-for-steel mechanical equipment, high-performance marine equipment, and low-carbon new energy equipment.

Tailored to practical R&D scenarios in the materials industry, this training curriculum was designed to address the enterprise’s actual demands in patent application, patent mining and patent analysis. Oriented toward practical operation and problem-solving, the training aims to strengthen the IP awareness and enhance the patent professional capabilities of R&D staff, building a solid intellectual property protection barrier for the enterprise’s core technologies. Q&A and interactive communication sessions were arranged after the training. Participants actively shared insights based on their daily R&D work, leading to fruitful training outcomes.

The management team of GN (Beijing) New Materials Technology commented that the training was highly targeted and practically applicable, closely aligning with the enterprise’s R&D realities. It effectively addressed the key difficulties and confusions encountered by the R&D team in patent work, fully demonstrating the professional expertise of the university’s public intellectual property service platform.
