XJTLU Technology Transfer 2024 Reaches a New High and Wins Several Honors

Transformation of scientific and technological achievements is an important link to promote the effective connection between innovation resources of universities and industrial demands, and a key link to accelerate the cultivation of new productivity. In recent years, XJTLU has been focusing on improving the quality and efficiency of scientific and technological achievements transformation, creating a synergistic innovation ecology between industry, academia, research, government and society, and continuously promoting the transformation of scientific and technological achievements into real productivity.

On January 6, XJTLU was awarded the honorary title of “Outstanding Contributing Institution” in the Integrated Development of Higher Education, Science and Technology Talents in Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) at the Promotion Meeting of the Transformation of Scientific and Technological Achievements of Universities in SIP and the Summary Meeting of the Integrated Development of Higher Education, Science and Technology Talents in SIP for the Year of 2024, and the vice president of XJTLU Dr. Ding Yimin accepted the commendation on behalf of the university.

In addition, XJTLU has also won a number of honors in the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. On behalf of the university, Lina Gao, Director of the Research Engagement and Innovation Office, received the certificate of recognition for “Hui Lake Broker”. 2024, XJTLU has made remarkable achievements in the registration of technology contracts, with the total amount of registration exceeding 44 million RMB, and the horizontal cooperation covering multiple fields and disciplines, which effectively promoted the transformation process of scientific and technological achievements.

Director Gao said that XJTLU will take this opportunity to continue to optimize the soft environment of innovation for researchers on campus, deepen the policy of transformation of achievements, and build a more open, synergistic and efficient university-enterprise cooperation mechanism.

Scientific and technological innovation is the source of living water for the transformation of achievements.

Since the beginning of this year, XJTLU has anchored on the “623” industrial system of Suzhou Industrial Park, focusing on the demand side, pulling the supply side, and actively constructing a high-capacity innovation platform with “application” as the forerunner.

The MEMS Advanced High Performance Sensor Chip Achievement Transformation Platform hosted by Professor Zhao Chun and the High Performance Gallium Nitride Power Integration Functional Chip Development and Industrialization Project hosted by Professor Liu Wen from XJTLU School of Advanced Technology were awarded the “Key Scientific Research Platform for Colleges and Universities” and “Industry-Teaching Integration Innovation Consortium for Colleges and Universities in the Park” respectively at the conference.

Professor Zhao introduced that the platform focuses on the R&D and application of new materials for fourth-generation semiconductor micro-nano sensors. Currently, the platform is deeply exploring metal oxide semiconductor epitaxial growth, deep energy level doping and high depth-to-width ratio etching technologies, and has successfully developed a number of MEMS semiconductor chips with excellent performance.

Starting from the technical end, XJTLU has been committed to exploring the transformation path of original achievements → proof of concept → industrialized applications, and promoting the technical achievements “out of the lab”. At the conference, Dr. Pengjing Xu, Director of Enterprise Cooperation/Senior Associate Professor of XJTLU School of AI and Advanced Computing, and Vibrantz (Suzhou) Materials signed the “Strategic Cooperation on Key Projects for the Transformation of Scientific and Technological Achievements of the Universities in the Park”, which will help the enterprises realize the optimization and upgrading of the intelligent color mixing process. Optimization and upgrading. Dr. Xu has long been focusing on the research of machine vision, deep learning and other vertical fields of artificial intelligence, and created the Bayesian Adaptive Multi-Module Collaborative Algorithm (BAMCA) for accurate and fast threshold measurement, and this cooperation with enterprises in the direction of new materials is another attempt of his research in new fields.

Focusing on the demand side, Professor Chen Xiaoyang's research team from XJTLU School of Advanced Technology aimed at the pain points of the energy industry and developed SKYNET Intelligent Photovoltaic Monitoring System independently from a “small cut”, which was displayed as a project of Huihu Leader at the promotion meeting and successfully attracted the attention and interest of many enterprises. Professor Chen introduced that the world's first multimodal PV power prediction model developed by the team will greatly improve the accuracy of PV prediction, which is expected to reduce energy costs for enterprises and promote the intelligent transformation of the energy industry.

XJTLU has always been led by the development concept of “education, science and technology, and talents”, and has been promoting the deep integration and efficient transformation of innovation elements by building a cooperative network of industry-education collaborative innovation. At the meeting, Dean Fu Lei of XJTLU Wisdom Lake Academy of Pharmacy shared the ecological construction of the integration of XJTLU's industry-university-research-government-society and the construction of the  Academy of Pharmacy's innovation consortium. Dean Fu Lei emphasized that XJTLU Wisdom Lake Academy of Pharmacy follows the development trend of the industry, and skillfully integrates the innovative drug research content into the curriculum system; at present, the college has established 7 technical service platforms in the field of pharmaceutical frontiers, which provides XJTLU wisdom and solutions for the sustainable development of the regional biomedical industry.

In the face of the future, XJTLU will continue to uphold the concept of openness and innovation, focus on education, science and technology, and talent development goals, and continue to explore the innovative cooperation model of industry-university-research-government-society, and accelerate the pace of scientific and technological achievements transformation.
